Working with the Dentrix Appointment List

You had a cancellation, and now you have open time at 3:00, in OP-3, on tomorrow’s hygiene schedule. Use the Appointment List to find a patient who can be seen and fill the hole in tomorrow’s schedule.

Additional Tips

  • If needed, you can change the Viewing date(s) by performing the following functions:
    • Click the Date drop-down arrow and select the date of your choice
    • Move the date forward or backward by one day, by clicking the Next Day or Previous Day buttons
    • Move the date forward or backward by one week, by clicking the Next Week or Previous Week buttons
  • The Span of Search can be altered for each list; however, “All Dates” are best used with the Broken, Pinboard, or Will Call appointment types, as these are appointments you would like to reschedule. If you use All Dates with the ASAP or Appointments lists, your resulting lists will be unmanageable, as the lists will display all such appointments from your database — past, present, future, completed, and multiple appointments for the same patients!
  • By default, the total production value of all the appointments on the list is displayed at the list’s bottom-right corner. To turn off Total Production, click the Appointment List View button and deselect View Production Amounts.
  • You can drag all appointment types from any list to an open time in the Appointment Book. However, you can only drag ASAP, Fixed, and Open appointment types (on the ASAP and Appointments lists) directly to the Pinboard.
  • Click the horizontal arrow on the right side of the list to display or conceal patient information for any selected patient. To edit what information displays in the information box, click the Appointment List View button, select the Hover Detail Setup button, make your changes, and click OK.
  • To manage saved lists from the Appointment List Setup dialog box, click the Setup button, select a list, Rename or Delete it, and click Close
  • Double-click any appointment to open the patient’s Appointment Information dialog box.
  • Right-click any appointment to select a variety of options, such as changing its status, moving, breaking, or deleting the appointment, etc.
