Attaching a Continuing Care Type to an Appointment

Topic Progress:

When you schedule a continuing care appointment, make sure that you attach the correct continuing care types to the appointment so you can track the patient’s continuing care. In most cases, if you have enabled the option to attach continuing care to the appointment automatically, Dentrix automatically attaches the continuing care type based on the appointment procedure(s) you select. You can also attach continuing care types to appointments manually.

Additional Tips

  • If the appointment reason is attached to a continuing care type in the Procedure Code Editor and the Use Reason to Auto Update CC option is selected, Dentrix automatically attaches the appropriate continuing care types to the appointment.
  • When you select the Use Reason to Auto Update CC option and then select a procedure attached to a continuing care type that is not set up for the patient, a message appears asking if you want to set up this type for the patient using the default settings. Click Yes to set up the continuing care type automatically.
  • If the continuing care type you need is already attached to another appointment for the same patient, a message appears asking if you want to attach the continuing care type to the current appointment. Click Yes to attach it to the current appointment.
