Completing a Continuing Care Appointment

Consultants recommend that you “pre-appoint” over 90% of your hygiene appointments as a way of maximizing your production. Dentrix makes completing a current continuing care appointment and pre-appointing the next appointment as simple as a mouse click. The new appointment imports most of the information from the previous appointment, making scheduling the next appointment fast and easy.

Additional Tips

  • Setting an appointment complete posts the procedures to the patient’s Ledger and Patient Chart.
  • In the Set Appointment Procedures Complete window you can also change the provider by selecting the procedure, clicking the Change Provider button, and selecting the correct provider.
  • In the New Appointment Information window, as you schedule the next continuing care appointment, you can adjust details, like provider, initial reason, and time.
  • By default, Dentrix posts the procedures as completed work for the appointment’s provider. However, you can edit the provider information before you set the appointment complete (from the Set Appointment Procedures Complete dialog box); or, you can edit it from the Ledger or Patient Chart after you set the appointment complete.
  • If there are no appointments open on the calculated next visit date, move the new appointment to the Pinboard, while you search for the next available opening.

    • Next Appointment Date: 6 months + 1 day at 9:00 am
    • Reason: Same as the previous appointment
    • Provider: Same as the previous appointment
