You can digitally sign a clinical note that was written for a patient. Signing a clinical note locks the note and moves it into history, meaning you cannot edit or delete it.

Additional Tips
- Dentrix displays the current date in the Sign Clinical Note dialog box to indicate that the signature will have the current date, which cannot be changed.
- Dentrix allows you to set a default signature provider for clinical notes. To do so, in the Patient Chart click Setup > Clinical Note Defaults and select a provider as the default signature provider for clinical notes.
- If you need to make changes to a note that has been moved into history or signed, you can post an addendum to the note.
- To learn more about signing a clinical note, read Adding Digital Signatures to Clinical Notes in Dentrix Help.
