Completing Treatment-Planned Procedures

Topic Progress:

You can complete appointments for treatment-planned procedures from the Treatment Planner or the Patient Chart. To maintain an accurate clinical record, it is important to make sure that you correctly set the treatment-planned procedures complete, rather than reposting the procedures as completed, which will result in duplicate procedures (one set as treatment-planned and the other as completed).

Additional Tips

  • To complete all procedures within a treatment case, from the Treatment Planner, select the case, click the Update Case Status button, and select Completed. All procedures within the case are set complete with today’s date and posted complete in the Ledger and Patient Chart.
  • Be careful not to complete a procedure in the Patient Chart by double-clicking the procedure in the Progress Notes and simply changing the status to Completed. This will post the procedure to the patient’s Ledger, but does not update the completion date to the current date.
  • You can also set a treatment-planned procedure complete from the Treatment Plan view of the Ledger. Select the procedure to be completed and click Transaction > Set Procedures Complete. The procedure is moved to the Ledger with the current date set as the completion date.
