Setting Up Automatic Adjustments for Insurance Payments

When you process payments from insurance carriers, do you find yourself selecting the same “Write-off” and “Refund” adjustment types? Dentrix allows you to preset your insurance adjustments to default to the adjustment types that you prefer. Then, when you enter insurance payments, your adjustment types will be automatically selected for you — saving you time and effort!

  1. Switch to the Dentrix demo database.
    (Skip this step if you are using the Dentrix Learning Edition software.)
  2. Select the following options in the Insurance Payment Setup dialog box (and leave all other selections as they are):
    • Write-off Type: Ins Write-Off
    • Refund Type: Ins Over-pmt Refund
    • Enable: Automatic Adjustments for Insurance Payments
