Does your insurance plan have its own fee schedule? Do they ask you to submit your provider’s fees on the claim, even though you charge the contracted fees to the patient? With a few changes to the insurance plan’s information, you can set up Dentrix to do exactly that!

Additional Tips
- The Claims Setup button is only enabled if one of the following Claim Formats is selected: DX2007, DX2012, DX2018, or DX2019.
- The Dentrix Resource Center lists all possible claim formats. To view them, login to the Resource Center and search for article Id 37959, “Dentrix Insurance Claim Formats.” You can also customize claim formats. To do so, read Customizing Claim Formats in Dentrix Help.
- You can also access an insurance plan’s insurance data through a patient’s Family File. To do so, double-click the insurance block and select the Insurance Data button.
- If a fee schedule is attached to an insurance carrier, it is used instead of the fee schedule attached to the patient’s primary provider. However, if a fee schedule is selected for the patient, that fee schedule is used instead of the one attached to the insurance carrier.
- Within the Copy Settings window, only insurance carriers that use compatible claim formats and the same payor ID will be displayed. To show more carriers, select Show All Insurance Companies.
