Adding Insurance Adjustment Types

Have you tried to adjust a patient’s Ledger, only to discover that the adjustment type you want is not available? In Dentrix, you can create specific adjustment types, such as write-offs and refunds. And better yet, you only need to complete this process once, and then you can use them whenever you need them.

Additional Tips

  • Adjustment types affect a patient’s account balance and are posted in the Ledger.
  • Dentrix has several pre-defined types and allows for a total of 255 adjustment types.
  • To speed up entering insurance adjustments, set up Dentrix to automatically display your preferred insurance Write-Off and Refund adjustment types.   1. Switch to the Dentrix demo database.
    (Skip this step if you are using the Dentrix Learning Edition software.)
  2. Create a new credit adjustment called “Insurance Write Off” and a charge adjustment called “Insurance Refund”.
