Viewing Insurance Benefits Information from the Treatment Planner

Topic Progress:

As you discuss with patients the financial aspects of their treatment plans, you may want to view their insurance coverage in the Treatment Planner without having to switch to the Family File. From the Treatment Planner, you can view a summary of their insurance coverage. If you document insurance plan exclusions and limitations in insurance plan notes, you can view this information as well, which may provide helpful information about coverage exceptions of which your patients may not be aware.

Additional Tips

  • You can also view a patient’s insurance benefits information by clicking the Insurance Benefits button on the Treatment Planner toolbar.
  • You can also view a patient’s primary or secondary insurance plan notes by clicking the Primary or Secondary Dental Insurance Notes buttons on the Treatment Planner toolbar.
  • You cannot edit an insurance plan note from the Treatment Planner; however, you can edit the note from the Coverage Table, either in the Family File or Office Manager. Keep in mind that an insurance plan note applies to all patients assigned to that insurance plan.
