Viewing Prescriptions

Topic Progress:

A patient tells you that the painkiller you prescribed for their previous extraction made them nauseous. You want to ensure that you won’t prescribe that medication to them again. By creating prescriptions in Dentrix, you have a record of each drug you’ve previously prescribed, and you can view these records before issuing refills or prescribing new medications.

Additional Tips

  • By default, prescriptions are listed chronologically according to creation date, and each prescription includes a description, drug name, and prescribing provider.
  • In the Patient Prescriptions List, you can click the heading of any column to sort the list by that heading.
  • A check mark in the NS (Not a Standard Prescription) column indicates that you made a change to the default prescription type when you created the prescription.
  • A check mark in the eRx column indicates that the prescription was imported from Electronic Rx.
