Have you ever wanted payment agreements for patients that “fit” into certain groups and receive similar terms? For instance, you may want to offer different payment terms to friends and family, where you don’t charge them interest or late fees. Dentrix allows you to create agreement templates with the terms that you choose. You can select that template for payment agreements that you assign to specific patients — instead of recreating the same terms every time you create a new agreement.

Additional Tips
- The annual finance charge percentage rate is charged against the patient’s current account balance divided by an interval that you set. When you set up a payment agreement, you can choose if the rate will be applied weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly. For example, if the annual percentage rate is 18% and the agreement is set to monthly, the monthly finance charge will be 1.5% of the patient’s current balance (18% ÷ 12 months in a year = 1.5% a month).
- Payment agreement templates can also be created from within a patient’s Ledger. In the Ledger, click File > Billing/Payment Agreement (or, click the Billing/Payment Agreement toolbar button). Click Agreement Templates > Payment Agreement Templates Setup > New, and then create a new template.
