Creating Appointment Reasons

To simplify the process of scheduling appointments, create a list of your most common appointment reasons. Then you can quickly select a reason when you schedule patient appointments, rather than typing long appointment descriptions.

Additional Tips

  • Dentrix only allows twenty appointment reasons, and Dentrix includes 14 pre-installed appointment reasons.
  • Before an appointment reason will display in the Appointment Book, the definition must meet the following criteria:
    • The reason must reference an existing procedure code or multi-code.
    • The reason must not reference a procedure or multi-code that requires a tooth number, surface, quadrant, or sextant.
